"Autumn at Pendeen”
Picture
Stage 3
Here I have started to add detail to the foreground rocks. This is a three stage process. Previously I had just laid a base layer and here I have added more definition to the individual rocks. Once this has dried, I will add a little more detail just to complete them. You will see that I have also added more detail to the rocky foreshore in the distance. I have then added more depth and texture to the sea using Titanium White and a small amount of Prussian Blue. I have then added some colour to the heathland and put in just a suggestion of the tin mines and the village of St Just in the west.
I have also toned down the colour of the sea in the far distance by adding a mixture of Ceruluan Blue Hue and Terte Verde green. I now have just the final stages to complete. More detail to the foreground rocks, more depth and texture to the sea and just some final touches here and there.
This is where the painting starts to take shape and all of a sudden there is visible progress.  The final stages were completed on Tuesday 7th December 2021.
